EBSCO PARTNERS WITH CT HOLDINGS TO PROVIDE CITADEL TECHNOLOGY SOFTWARE TO Worldwide CLIENT BASELeading Information Services Company to Make Citadel’s Security/Privacy Technology Available To 40,000 Accounts
Dallas – November 20, 2001 – CT Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB: CITN) today announced a partnership with EBSCO Information Services, the world’s largest global provider of subscriptions services, reference databases and online journals, to offer the Company’s security and privacy software products to EBSCO’s client base in the library and business community. Through the agreement, Citadel’s SecurePC desktop standardization and file hardening software, Hercules vulnerability assessment and remediation tool and NetOFF automatic logoff programs will be available for trial through EBSCO’s customer web site. EBSCO’s online service, EBSCO host, exceeds 100 million page views per month and is used by more than 40,000 corporate, academic, biomedical, library, school and government accounts. “Security and privacy are growing concerns of many of our accounts, which include major library and university systems, as well as corporate and biomedical companies,” said Tim Collins, division general manager of EBSCO Publishing. “We are working with Citadel because it is a proven leader and because the Company offers preventative security not found in other systems or firewalls.” Citadel’s technology enables companies to remotely control desktop settings and prevent viruses from deleting key systems, as well as to automatically log off unattended terminals. These issues are critical in environments common to EBSCO clients, where users rotate continuously and any number of terminals might be connected to the network at any one time. “The recent waves of worms and viruses attacking networked computers have created a broader demand for security software that EBSCO is helping its clients meet,” said Steven B. Solomon, chairman and CEO of CT Holdings. “By encouraging the use of our state-of-the-art computer security products, EBSCO is acting as a market leader should, not only helping to protect its users from attacks, but also insuring that it can reliably deliver its electronic products over the Internet.” The key features of each product are: SecurePC 4.5 Ø Remote standardized control of desktop settings to control unauthorized downloads or system setting adjustments that can compromise security Ø Password protection for system files to prevent unauthorized changes either internally or externally Ø Works in all Windows and NetWare environments
Hercules Ø Allows systems administrators and security officers to select and deploy resolutions for vulnerabilities automatically Ø Designed to run on Microsoft Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000 and XP, with future support for Unix/Linux and wireless devices Ø Supported by the Hercules Server, which coordinates the real-time receipt of updated vulnerability information from Citadel and provides a centralized repository for deploying selected vulnerability resolutions to the targeted host computers
NetOFF Ø Automatically log off inactive users Ø Customize logoff policies Ø Automatic screen blocker
